I was extremely disappointed. Horribly disappointed. It used the right materials but the wrong quality. Its an incredibly large car, that’s really it. Now this Cadillac XTS, that car is a great deal!

Same quality but had the freshness and the wow factor it needed. In fact I would recommend everyone check these out. Maybe check out the V-Sport which had over 400 hp and AWD before any Lincolns changed their faces.

I sat in a Genesis on a Hyundai dealer’s used lot. It felt like a Hyundai, not a Mercedes. In fact, I don’t think it was even on par with the base model Kia Forte I test drove.

Sure the thing significantly undercuts the ‘competition’ on price, but I think that’s because it doesn’t really compete with those cars at all. It’s just a poor copy.

Though I can’t speak for their more recent Genesis offerings.

Bummer. I dream of one day owning a Korean/Japanese luxobarge. Really just any luxobarge that’s doesn’t try to be sporty and isn’t German (I’m allergic to torx bolts)

The recent stuff is better because it aims at being great at its price point instead of feeling discounted from a higher price point. Despite my posts Ive never been a Hyundai brand fan. Im a Kia enthusiast and Hyundai has stolen a majority of Kia’s design and supply tricks recently and it has helped the 2015 and newer vehicles immensely.

Its pretty bad though. But honestly Im pretty sensitive to interiors. I dont mind hard plastics, but I do mind hallow points and disregarded textures. There are a lot of cars and trucks that I completely disagree with the assessments of from many brands, especially “luxury” products.

If you want a great luxobarge then look for something large and FWD-based. Dead serious. If you want it to be RWD then get a luxury midsize crossover. Those are the two vehicle types that tend to do it right across all brands. Otherwise youll need to look at RWD vehicles that were originally over $100k.

The Genisis seems like a great car if only they could get the styling right. IMO the exterior was ok now it’s awesome and the interior was bleh, now it’s decent. The XTS has the opposite going on.

When I sat in an E90 335ix this summer, I was entirely underwhelmed by the interior. The dash look cheap and the overall feeling of the interior was just blah. I find it odd that when that car was new mags like Car and Driver stumbled over themselves to tell us how amazing it was, yet rained endless criticism on brands like Ford and Toyota for their “low rent” interiors.
